Carisoprodol and methocarbamol have been used to treat muscle spasms associated with leg cramps. Carisoprodol or placebo was administered four times daily (350 mg each) for a period of approximately 10 weeks. At the conclusion of the study, 70% of the patients on carisoprodol reported complete or marked relief of pain, muscle spasm, and tenderness.
